Globally-acclaimed American singer Miley Cyrus attacks Italian luxury brand Dolce and Gabbana even as her brother makes his runway debut with the brand. The D&G founder-designer tells her to #boycottdolcegabbana

Global music sensation Miley Cyrus shook Instagram when she posted a picture of her brother Braison Cyrus, congratulating him for his runway debut as a model at Dolce and Gabbana’s spring 2018 show. However, the vocalist added a controversial line in the caption which drew instant ire from the brand. “D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see,” (sic) she wrote on Instagram.

It’s no secret that Dolce and Gabbana is repeatedly worn by the US’ First Lady Melania Trump, wife of President Donald Trump, and that the brand has always looked ecstatic about it. Cyrus, being the Trump’s critic, has slammed the brand for their affiliation with the political family. Here’s what Miley Cyrus actually wrote:

Congrats @braisonccyrus on walking in your 1st runway show…. It’s never been my little brothers dream to be a model as HE is one of the most talented musicians my ears have ever been given the gift of hearing…. BUT it is a Cyrus family trait to try everything once (within reason HA) and to embrace opportunities that encourage you to step out of your comfort zone! We believe in trying something new everyday! I love you Prince Suga Bear and seriously congratulations on your experience! I am so proud of you always…. From Nashville to Italy! 👑❤️👑❤️👑❤️ PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics…. but I do support your company’s effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!

BOYCOTT DOLCE AND GABBANA, SAYS THE FOUNDER
Stefano Gabbana, the co-founder of the Italian brand, instantly hit back at Cyrus calling her ‘ignorant’. “For your stupid comment never more work with him,” he wrote on Cyrus’ post, with two heart emojis. He then took the matter on his Instagram page and reposted Cyrus’ image of her brother, with a detailed caption. “We are Italian and we don’t care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it’s simply ignorant. We don’t need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!! #boycottdolcegabbana 😂😂😂😂❤️,” (sic) he wrote.

Other notable personalities who walked for the show included Hillary Clinton’s nephew and Pippa Middleton’s new brother-in-law. Here’s what Stefano Gabbana actually wrote:
