The Two and a Half Men star confessed he has had unprotected sex with two people since the diagnosis and paid millions to keep the secret about the virus

American actor Charlie Sheen has ended all bitter speculations around his health. He has revealed that he is HIV positive during a conversation with Matt Lauer on a television show Today. “I admit I’m HIV positive. I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks, of sub-truths, very harmful … stories that are threatening the health of so many others,” he has said, as reported by The Guardian. He said he was a victim of extortion because of the disease. He had to pay money to prevent people from spreading information about his health.

However, in the last few weeks, several websites have run stories spreading news variety of news about Charlie Sheen’s health. The Golden Globe-winning actor said that he learnt about the disease some four years ago but is sure of not transmitting the virus intentionally to anyone. “It’s a hard three letters to absorb. It’s a turning point in one’s life,” he said on the show.  He further confessed on the show that he has had unprotected sex with a couple of people since the diagnosis but both were informed in advance and have been under the doctor’s eye.

In an infamous incident, CBS had sacked Sheen from the popular sitcom Two and a Half Men in 2011 after the actor criticised the show’s creator Chuck Lorre.

Sheen’s career is fading but he has active on the social media. His personal life has kept him in headlines. He was involved in reports of drug abuse and domestic violence.
