FDCI invites Ehsaas, cultural icons to be a part of ‘India Fashion Week’

Ehsaas brought India’s legendary cultural figures on the ramp. By Karan Bhardwaj

If everything goes by the plan, we may see cultural icons like Pt Birju Maharaj, Sonal Mansingh, Uma Sharma, Shovana Narayan and many others taking the forthcoming edition of India Fashion Week by storm. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, invited these legends to be a part of the fashion week as he addressed them at the India Habitat Centre recently, where a special evening, Ehsaas, was organised. It was an unusual confluence of arts, designs, music, film and fashion where iconic personalities sashayed down the ramp, flaunting garments and accessories inspired by different artworks.

“We would be honoured if (Ehsaas) could join us at the fashion week. Hopefully, it will happen at the coming India Fashion Week,” Sethi said, drawing applause from the curator of the evening, Alka Raghuvanshi. “It will be a wonderful collaboration. Clothes that we present at Ehsaas define contemporary couture. They are worn by younger people. It will be great if they are exhibited at a platform where people understand the combined aesthetics of fine arts, design, fashion and culture,” Raghuvanshi told Born of Web.
