There has been a cutthroat competition that spares none in the fashion industry. For beginners, it is all the way more challenging to get noticed. Before every season of the fashion week, the Fashion Design Council of India gives an opportunity to aspiring models to foray straight into the big scene by clearing the auditions. Backstage, when you walk into the green room, you can read hopes and billion-dollar aspirations of young girls desperate to make it to the biggest runway. Born of Web‘s photo journalists Shazid Chauhan and Shooting Hill captured some moments at the just-concluded auditions.
In a separate move this season, mobile giant ‘Huawei’, also one of the sponsors of the fashion week, ran a social media contest ‘Hunt for the Face of Honor’, in collaboration with the FDCI and shortlisted 26 young aspirants, to be a part of the model auditions. Six of the final shortlisted contestants were chosen to walk the ramp for the ‘Honor Show’ as part of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2017.
