“A lot of Indian designers have brought back handloom in fashion. They are presenting desi fabric in
contemporary silhouettes”
— ADITI RAO HYDARI
Aditi Rao Hydari recently turned bride for a fashion do but refused to comment on the man of her dreams. When we exclusively caught up with her backstage, we asked the actress a few qualities she would seek in her her ‘ideal’ man. “I don’t get impressed easily,” she hit back calling the matter ‘private’. The actress walked the ramp in a bridal lehenga by Ritu Kumar and had all praise for the Indian designers. “A lot of designers are doing amazing work. They are bringing back indigenous textiles and craft. They are highlighting Indian handloom and lending it a contemporary twist. They are presenting desi fabrics in different silhouettes and making it accessible to the world,” she told Born of Web.

Hydari told us she is a desi traveller at heart and loves hanging out in Rajasthan. “India is a beautiful country with amazing travel options. I haven’t been able to explore many territories. A lot of people tend to visit abroad leaving India behind where they have incredible travel possibilities,” she said.
Hydari is soon starting Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic-drama. “I’m so thrilled to be able to work with Mani Ratnam. Forget Tamil, I would have done the movie even if it was made in Spanish. It’s a great opportunity,” she said.
