Going by the reputation of Censor Board of Film Certification that suffers due to senseless cuts, it is surprising to watch the unadulterated trailer of Udta Punjab that has ‘Drugs Di Maa Di‘ a lot. Wondering if there was more to the trailer that has been cut before it went on air? The answer is No. The CBFC cleared the trailer without single cut or beeps! The news has been confirmed by film-maker Anurag Kashyap on Twitter.

“Pleasantly surprised and thankful to the CBFC for seeing the UDTA PUNJAB trailer in the context and clearing it without a single cut.Big one (sic),” he Tweeted last night after the fabulous response to the trailer.

He even thanked CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani for his understanding. “Having cursed the CBFC always for there overzealous attitude, must credit them where it’s due. Thank you mr Nihalani, hoping it continues (sic),” he further wrote on Twitter.

Kashyap has had problems with CBFC in the past but now things seem to be improving with the censorship. Last, Nihalani was criticised for clipping kissing scenes in James Bond last release.

Now the bigger question is: After trailer, will the entire movie ‘Udta Punjab‘ release without cuts? Watch out this space.
