“People form opinion about me the way they see me everyday”
— HEMANT SAGAR
With fashion becoming more affordable, everyday wear is surely going through transformation. Designers too are launching cost-effective lines to penetrate into growing markets. Indo-French fashion designer duo Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar (label Lecoanet Hemant) have launched their affordable everyday wear Here and Now. This also happens to be their first collection under their new brand ‘Genes’.
Apparently, the clothes are designers’ modern interpretation of traditional wardrobe. In their words, this line has ‘international expertise for Indian markets’. “Society has changed radically in the last five years. We are emerging into a progressive society while retaining the ethos of traditions. The ‘New India’ wants clothes that go in traditional proportions but have international structure,” said Hemant Sagar.

But we are trying to introduce fashion for everyday, which is functional, comfortable but trendy. If you decode your everyday situations, you have some sort of special engagements. Like we have professional dealing through this interview. So we cannot take it for granted. People form opinion about me the way they see me every day,” said Hemant.
