The star cat is out of the bag and has surprised us all!
He loves ‘salami’ from the Food Hall and cannot do without grilled chicken at evenings. But he doesn’t approve spicy food. In bed, he gets cozy unadulterated quilt of silk and velvet. Mind you, he doesn’t walk on ground which is uncomfortable according to his standards. Well, we are not talking about a brat rich kid but a spoilt cat of fashion designer Nida Mahmood.
Meet Mr Toffee Tinkerbell, who’s also the inspiration behind latest eatery in town, Junglee Billee, owned by Amit Agarwal and conceptualised by Nida.
The cat was introduced at a high profile evening attended by eminent fashion designers, chefs, supermodels, actors and bureaucrats who turned up to raise a toast to Junglee Billee. But Toffee kept everyone hooked. Of course, Nida had to hold him up because the ‘champ’ in the house resisted public show.
“He expects I wake up at 5 am and feed him breakfast, which I religiously do. Sometimes, he wakes up as early as 3:45am! Though I stumble into furniture in sleep, I feed him. Mostly he sleeps on my quilt, leaving me puzzled through the night. I have to adjust myself shivering into a corner and just stay there so that he doesn’t wake up,” Nida told Born of Web.

The restaurant, Junglee Billee, is a unique boutique-studio-in-bar where one can buy everything at display, including cutleries and cool chairs inspired by the ‘Bombay of 70s’. “Nida is the quirkiest fashion designer. I believe she has styled interiors very well. That’s why we have kept everything on sale here because a lot of women would want to buy our stuff besides food,” said Amit.
