Come July 29, and Delhi’s who’s who will be parading towards Taj Palace hotel, the exquisite venue of the five-day long fashion extravaganza. Traditionally, the couture affair is one of the most expensive and exclusive fashion dos in India where top designers present their hottest collections under larger than life canvasses.
🙂 Sabyasachi Mukherjee, one of the most talented Indian fashion designers, will open the fashion week. His show will be even more special as the iconic red soles by Christian Louboutin will be seen on the ramp. It will be a unique shoe collection resulting from first time ever creative collaboration between Christian Louboutin and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
🙂 This edition, ace designer Rohit Bal aka Gudda will create a world of fantasy on the runway at an off-site show. Famous for his suave cuts and beautiful fabrics, Rohit Bal represents the true spirit of an artist. His creations, like his personality, are unrestricted by norms.
🙂 The silver curtains will fall on the couture week on August 2 with a vivacious closing show by the country’s finest style guru Manish Malhotra. Known for his fantabulous rendition of the most coveted trends, his couture collection will be a celebration of intricate craftsmanship and admiration for traditional hues. Known to be the front runner in Bollywood, creating a niche for stylists, Manish has added unadulterated sparkle to leading actresses’ wardrobes with his dazzling collections for over 25 years now. “At Amazon India Couture Week, I will bring to you Couture Soiree, an evening reminiscent of the old world charm from the 1950s, when western fashion was being revolutionised and fashion shows had a sense of an intimate experience and luxury. His forte is to blend the rustic of Indian art and craft and the earthiness of Indian handloom textiles with the fineness of today’s urban fashion.
🙂 Varun Bahl spins enigma through floral motifs in his couture collection. He will present ‘Bouquet de Reves’ meaning ‘Bouquet of Dreams’. A Varun Bahl woman is a global soul. 🙂 Bollywood stars are expected to throng the front rows and glitter the ramp as well. However, the head-turner will be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who will be the showstopper for Manish Malhotra at the finale show.
