Last week, we reported how ace fashion designer Rohit Bal became the head-turner at fellow Varun Bahl’s show during a recent fashion week in the city. He was sloshed, failed to concentrate at the creations on ramp, broke down in the arms of FDCI chief Sunil Sethi, who even had to escort him to the exit doors. Obviously, he was the talk of the town the next day. Now the designer has spoken about his experience and confessed that he got emotional about Varun’s success. In a lead interview published in today’s edition of Economic Times’ Panache, Bal has claimed that he is an happy space. “I am certainly not depressed nor distressed. I thank God I am in a very good place right now. I wept at Varun Bahl’s show because he is my best friend. He had worked really hard on his show and he had a huge production because he was also launching his wedding company. Varun became a designer because of me. We have a very strong connection. It was almost like my own show. I became emotional when I saw how far he has come and I wept for joy. I wept at his show even though I had my own show the next day,” he said.
Rohit Bal has got massive fan following in the fashion industry and his admirers even defended him on social media. We found some tweets floating on Twitter as reaction to our story “Why did Rohit Bal cry at the fashion week?”. Dimpy Kapur, a fashion blogger of Delhi Style blog, posted on Twitter, “He cries when he is moved by beautiful things, and is very loved by all in the fraternity ! idk Rohan, i love him n he is always an angel, biggest yaaron ka yaar, ask any1 who knows him (sic).” Another blogger Jasmeen Duggal chose to keep mum on the issue, saying that she was not at Varun Bahl’s show and would not like to comment on the story. “I only speak of fashion and not who’s doing what. Moreover I wasn’t at this show! Kindly keep me out of this!” she said.
PS: We too love Gudda for his flamboyance but one should always keep high-spirits in check!
