Kangana Ranaut’s heated conversation with a journalist at a recent press conference of her movie Judgemental Hai Kya has snowballed into a larger public discourse over functioning of media. Kangana alleges that a section of media has been running a smearing campaign against her and that some reporters and movie critics are biased. She is particularly hurt after some scribes mocked Manikarnika, a film that re-cemented Kangana’s stardom at the box office. While some people are praising her for her honest take on media, others are accusing her of misusing her powerful position and intimidating press. My two cents on the whole controversy below:
