Arunabh Kumar, the poster boy of online entertainment space, has gone viral for the most unexpected reasons
Arunabh Kumar, the founder of online entertainment platform The Viral Fever, has gone viral for shocking reasons. Multiple women have come forward on the Internet accusing Kumar of serious molestation charges. The row started with an anonymous blog on medium.com where the writer, claiming to be a former female staffer at the TVF, shared horror stories of mental and physical abuse she experienced at the hands of Arunabh Kumar.
In the blog, this ex-staffer writes:
Right from Pitchers to Tripling, i was molested. Be it in parties where Arunabh would try to lift me or would try and fall on me pretending he is drunk. One instance was the Ola deal. The Ola team was meeting him and we were taking notes. He walks out of the meeting with some excuse and calls me for some notes. I walk up. He says its time we do a quicky. I am stunned. And i told him i will go to the police. He says “Police to meri pocket me hai”. I walked out deciding never to come back. Then get a call from Legal saying that I am in a breach of contract. Even my Mom tells me not to fight them. Why? Because a 24 year old girl cant fight an IIT guy with so much of money. He calls up my father and tells him that i am making up stories. Whatever that means.
Ever since the blog was published, more women have come up, narrating similar stories against Arunabh Kumar. Another girl wrote her experience at the TVF in response to the blog.
One more woman called Reena Sengupta wrote yet another shocking post on Facebook. She mentioned how she went through similar circumstances.
The Viral Fever has denied all charges, Below is their official statement:
This is an official response from TVF on the anonymous article published on Medium by the Indian Fowler. The article is completely ludicrous and defamatory against TVF and its team. All the allegations made against TVF and its team in the article are categorically false, baseless and unverified. We take a lot of pride in our team and in making TVF a safe workplace that is equally comfortable for women and men. We will leave no stone unturned to find the author of the article and bring them to severe justice for making such false allegations. It is our humble request that you do not to share an unsubstantiated, unverified and anonymous article such as this. We would like to thank all our fans and friends for their continued support.
Guess the issue has just begun and will have many more details to follow!
