:) Thousands of animal lovers were left dismayed when they learnt about the closure of Delhi’s well-known animal shelter, Friendicoes. Within hours, an online campaign to collect funds was initiated. The drive on social media is gaining momentum and over ten lakh have already been collected.

:) Eminent personalities have come forward to raise the noble cause. Ayushhmann Khurrana, Randeep Hooda and Milind Deora have tweeted about it. Soha Ali Khan has almost become the face of this campaign on Twitter!

:) Friendicoes owes Rs 38 lakh to Delhi’s municipal corporation. They need Rs 20 lakh on an urgent basis to stay afloat.

:) Started in 1979 as a kindness club by a group of school children in Delhi, Friendicoes grew beyond everyone’s expectations in the last 36 years and has emerged as one of India’s biggest and well-known animal shelter with more than 2000 animals under care.
