“This generation of actors is so lucky and spoilt, compared to us. Today, film actresses have everything. They have a staff of 4-5 people travelling with them. We rarely had make up artistes outdoors, there were no monitors or extra staff!”

“Today’s competition is more about the body and wearing hotter clothes and less about acting in general.”

Preity Zinta had a mind-boggling chat with her fans on Twitter last night. Celebrating 17 years in the film industry, she responded to some of the toughest questions. Not only she announced her comeback this year, she also named her favourite co-stars, shared anecdotes with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Kapoor. And yes, there’s serious dope too in this #pzchat. Here’s a recap!

If you were not an actress, you’d be…
Criminal psychologist. Forensic scientist, I guess!

How do you look at the onset of new kind of cinema in early 2000s?
Though I started in 1998, I considered myself as a millennium actress because we were the change in 2000s. Kya Kehna was about teenage pregnancy while Dil Chahta Hai was the cult and brought back sync sound.

Would you like to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?
That would be so awesome!

Which younger actress reminds you of yourself?
Alia Bhatt! She played mini me in Sangharsh. Besides the dimple, we have very different lives.

How has film industry evolved?
This generation of actors is so lucky and spoilt, compared to us. Today, film actresses have everything. They have a staff of 4-5 people travelling with them. We rarely had make up artistes outdoors, there were no monitors or extra staff!

Do you think there is more competition in industry before?
Actually no! Today’s competition is more about the body and wearing hotter clothes and less about acting in general.

The most real moment in the last 17 years.
Seeing a little girl who was terminally ill in hospital. She saw me and lit up and changed me forever. She died after.

The most underrated stuff in the industry.
Underrated and under-dressed actresses of course. Wish they don’t have to wear next to nothing in songs. I hate it!

Will you do regional cinema?
I don’t know but regional films are so tough. I did two Telugu films earlier and went crazy trying to learn my dialogues.

Your favourite track.
Jiya Jale from Dil Se. Nobody forgets the first! All the credit goes to Shah Rukh Khan.

Favourite filmy dialogue.
Are you a virgin? That dialogue from Dil Se was awesome!

Any memorable moment from the sets of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.
Salman Khan choked when he found out that I was playing a prostitute in the movie. I love him because he always looked out for me.

The worst thing to do in a movie?
Wear cotton dresses in minus zero temperatures for songs and then look happy singing and dancing.

Favourite movie?
Veer Zara

When are you coming back?
Later part of this year. And it’s not my home production.
