NEWS: The Queen Bey is in trouble! Beyonce Knowles, one of the most successful pop singers in the world, is facing plagiarism charges pressed by a background singer Javon aka Ahmad Lane. The fact-of-the-matter is that it is a $7 million lawsuit.
WHAT’S THE MATTER: Ahmad Lane claims Beyonce has stolen his song XOXO to create her hit track XO which was released last December
BACKGROUND: Ahmad Lane has worked with Chrissy Collins, one of Beyonce’s background singers. He alleged he gave the track to Collins who passed it off to Bey.
PROGRESS: Beyonce has told the court that she doesn’t intend to steal anybody’s creative work. She has explained that she will never stoop this low after winning 17 Grammys and 118 million records sold.
CRUX: The two tracks do not match at all except the letters XO. The case highlights the copyright issues of the lyrics.
