A lot had already been discussed about Govinda’s role in Anurag Basu’s much-delayed film Jagga Jasoos before the film-maker finally clarified that he had to chop off the actor’s cameo. Govinda, who had shot a cameo of a father in the film that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif as the lead pair, has released a statement on Facebook, expressing his shock and disappointment. He said he agreed to do the movie only because of his respect towards the ‘Kapoor family’. He also revealed that he was terribly unwell during the shoot.
“I gave full respect to Kapoor family i did the film because he is my seniors son I was told I will get the script and told they will narrate the film in South Africa and I dint even charge my signing amount made no contracts I was on drips still traveled to South Africa and did my shoot..there were various negative stories and negative articles only for GOVINDA and that’s how the film was remembered for 3yrs i did my job as an actor if the director is not happy it’s completely his call,” (sic) Govinda wrote on Facebook!
