With movies like Chennai Express, Happy New Year and Diwale, Shah Rukh Khan might have stormed box office but also drew his share of criticism from his fans and movie critics alike for endorsing brainless cinema. Now that Fan and Raees are approaching, which are anticipated to be of some substance and driven by good storylines, a lot of speculative talks are surfacing if this is a deliberate move by the King Khan to reinvent his position. However, in Delhi to promote Fan at Logix City Center (Noida), he asserted that he has just followed his heart in his career and didn’t find logic or reasoning for every film that he does. When asked if he is inclined toward offbeat cinema, he brushed off, saying, “I did these films (Fan, Raees) before Dilwale. Unfortunately, they are coming after Dilwale. So there’s nothing like finding a new path or reinventing kind of thing with me. I love to work with directors who come up to me with good work. I follow my heart,” he said.

(Don’t Miss) Priyanka Chopra: I have turned Hollywood into Bollywood

In the Indian Express interview published today, he said he would do films he could do justice to. “Last year, the big talk was that I had sold my soul to commerce and no longer do relevant films. Many said I’m over and done with. This year, people are saying I’m doing offbeat films and have new thoughts. It is not that complicated. I do what I feel like doing,” he was quoted as saying.
