India’s LGBT community might be facing legal hassles at the moment but slowly and steadily, a change has begun to surface across communities. After Bollywood and fashion, advertising agencies too are beautifully defining love beyond genders. In a recent advertisement of a clothing brand Anouk, release by Myntra on YouTube, a lesbian couple is having a peaceful live-in relationship, assuring their love is above gender equations. The video has gone viral and is touching a mark of 3 lakh viewership on YouTube.
This is a heartening move by the brand and its ad agency that they have chosen to break the stereotypes and introduce a new line of thought in the advertising world. As per estimates, India has an estimated 25 lakh gay population. Sex and love are subjective issues and one must be allowed to make individual choices about them.
