The US police has charged a student for using threatening emoji on Instagram against the school. By Team Born of Web
When we think bizarre things occur only in India, this happened! A 12-year-old girl has been arrested in the US for using threatening emoji against her school on Instagram. The girl, who has not been named due to her age, wrote the following message on Instagram in December:
Killing ????
“meet me in the library Tuesday”
???? ???? ????
Now this message invited the US police on her doors as the cops found the message ‘threatening to blow up the school’. The girl is facing criminal charges. And this has not happened for the first time. Last year, a 17-year-old was also charged in New York with threatening the police officers with “????????.”

The US is discussing whether emoji are the new language to defame, insult or threaten people in the Internet age. In the last few years, emoji have figured prominently in the youth’s everyday chats where the icons of faces, animals or fruits are used to describe emotions or keep the conversation shorter. However, they are interpreted differently from person-to-person.
The arrests are being made at a time when Facebook has expanded its like button with five faces to express emotions.
