The Delhi police has registered a case against unknown persons. They are also taking action against the owners of the BoomBox Cafe due to the presence of hookahs & plastic containers at the outlet!
We have reported a number of times about guests being thrashed by bouncers at various pubs and lounges in the city but this time, a video has gone viral where drunk guests could allegedly be seen hitting the owner and staff of Delhi-based Boombox Cafe. According to multiple online and television news reports, a case has been registered against “unknown persons” by the Delhi police.
The brawl between guests and staff took place at the Rajouri Garden outlet of the cafe over settlement of the bill. “Complainant Rizul Garg and his brother Nikunj Garg, apart from the pub manager, suffered injuries on their face and hands due to being attacked with beer bottles by the accused,” reads one report, as quoted by Business Standard. “All three have been admitted to nearby Kukreja Hospital where their condition is stable,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar was quoted as saying.
According to the report, the six accused were out in the night to celebrate a birthday party. The argument took place when the staff requested the boys to settle bill and leave around 1 am. “Hookahs, flavoured tobacco packets and plastic containers have been seized from the restro-bar. On this basis, we have initiated action under the relevant law against the Garg brothers as well,” the DCP was quoted as saying.
