The Stage 2 winner Sharvi Yadav: ‘I did not make it through the auditions of the first season’

The finalists of The Stage 2, a youth-centered English singing show on Colors INFINITY, enthralled the audience with their rocking performances at Hard Rock Cafe, Gurugram. Sharvi, who rose to fame as the winner of the show captivated the audience with her spectacular performance in the Capital. Her buoyant persona made us indulge in a candid conversation with her during which, the outspoken Sharvi told us about her experiences of dealing with rejection and failure, and her journey to become a superstar.

Rejected in the auditions of the first edition of The Stage, she came back stronger in its second edition. “I was heartbroken when I didn’t get through the auditions. I felt that I needed some more training,” she said. What acted as a driving force to finally win The Stage 2? She explains through a realisation that happened in the past. Following an unhealthy lifestyle and on a reckless diet, led to nodule formations in her throat. After she was warned by a doctor for a surgery that would lead to a change in her voice, she took to Jazz and meditation to heal herself. “When Stage 2 happened, I was too excited.”

Referring to her experience at The Stage 2, she confessed that she was the most antisocial person there. However, her experience on the show was fulfilling, as she got avenues to expand her horizons. An ardent follower of Beyonce and Sia, she expresses that winning the show wasn’t something she was looking forward to. “I didn’t care to win the show. I felt that if you’re getting the opportunity to perform in front of four esteemed judges and India, what else do you want”, she adds.
