With a glamorous fashion show, heritage venue against the backdrop of an ocean and an august gathering, the FDCI’s India Men’s Weekend proved to be a much-needed fun booster for the fashion fraternity. Happened at the picturesque set-up of Aguad Port and Jail Complex in Goa, the event is being touted as an annual affair to accelerate men’s lifestyle industry. For many in the audience, it was a reminder of the celebrated men’s fashion week that used to buzz New Delhi a decade ago.
Some known menswear designers who showcased in Goa included Abraham and Thakore, Arjun Khanna, Ashish N Soni, J J Valaya, Manoviraj Khosla, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna and Varun Bahl.
“Menswear is growing at an exponential rate, and it is the right time to restart the menswear fashion week, to showcase how it has evolved from conventional attire to more refreshing representation of style,” stated Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, in a media release.
